Suspected something like this from the title, but I figured it'd be on Shimavoir's latest pic if anything.

Can't really agree/disagree without context. :B Dunno if that just doesn't bother other people or if they found/saw/were involved in whatever you're talking about.
It does SOUND pretty ridiculous though.

What?! That's BS! Slug's style is all about the torso, hips and thighs!!

I really don't get the point, why are people always complaining about that?
(I have this proplem, too. Everyone at t my school is just like hey-looks-fine-but-these-thights-are-way-too-big-like-always.)
When do they get the point that it is awesome and looks fine?
It's your way to draw and there are so many who love it!

Jesus has risen. It's no surprise. Even he would martyr his momma to ride to hell between those thighs.~

I love you, man.

It's rather hilarious how you wrote only two brief lines, yet ~Vashkunthestampede replies with three negrophallic-huge paragraphs of massive butthurt. :shithitsthefan::trollface:

Way to go Slug you just proved to me and most likely a whole bunch of the people who were on the border about whether or not you could take a critique graciously that it's quite obvious you CAN'T. To actually go out of your way to make a journal to make yourself sound more egotistic and adding that stupid steve Brulle gif just shows what an arrogant smartass you are. You know what the mark of a great artist is? One with humility and the willingness to work with his fans on something that seems to be a popular critique topic, and all you've done here is prove how childish you are. Of course you're going to have a huge fan base YOU DRAW TITS.

That's really the ones that support you here and boost your already over-inflated ego, the ones who could care less about hips because tits. The only reason I even watch your page is because I like Cteno as a character, but you're just starting to cheapen her as well for me with your attitude towards people just trying to give you constructive tips. And for all the people calling it a "style" I've seen "Styles". Generally an artist with a style of drawing likes to use that technique, but is open to trying out others as well. Slug on the other hand only sticks to one basic shape and every time as I said before it looks like two eating disorders stacked on top of one another with a boob job to compensate for the overly small torso.

The only reason I chose to respond to this journal is because I am just disgusted that he feels the need to jack up his ego even further by making a journal mocking those trying to give him constructive criticism, and most likely is feeding off of all your comments just boosting his arrogant attitude. You're not a D.A. god Slug so get over yourself. It just sickens me to see adults act like little children.

Can you rage harder? He simply finds it ridiculous people care so much about the drawings he made. And to be honest, ignoring how he feels about it, you seem to have made up your own image of the guy. He's pretty far from egotistical if you ever bothered to listen to him talk in his live-streams. He uses art as a way to make money while also occasionally having fun. You seriously need to relax man.

but after the love and effort i put in it, i still get people saying "this stuff suppose to attract 17 yr old can't you" I'm like can't you drink a nice tall glass of STFU...i actually didn't say that i remove the comment but if that person would say it in my face. i would slap him with my shoe or break a chair on his head even if was a female idc. i'm that crazy

Hhahahahaa, amazing. No matter what happens on the internet there are always some trolls or super opinionated people. Art is art. I fucking love it when anatomy is contorted or accentuated limbs and waists, it's CREATIVE. Love your stuff Slugbox. I show people your art everyday (and I think one of my friends said they would 'give it a go' with Gloom)

I can agree with you on that. When I see an argument brewing in the comments, I want to pop some popcorn too.
And drink some ice-cold Coke. :D
Desufy Featured By Owner Feb 25, 2013

it's an artists choice how they want to depict a character in their own art style
Abysmal0 Featured By Owner Feb 25, 2013  Professional Digital Artist
That really is childish.

Look, we're all entitled to our opinions people. But it's one thing to give credit where credit is due, as in "I don't much care for this kind of pin-up/pokemon/whatevs art, but your skill in drawing them is fantastic!"

And quite another to respond with "I HATEZ THESE POKEMANZ! R U RETARDED?!"

Constructive feedback people. It's called constructive feedback. There are better ways to get your point across than name calling. What's funnier is that, by the time they write those kind of responses, they could've moved on to other pictures.

Who let the children on the internet? Seriously. Fuck. The. Fuck. Right. Off. Out. Of. It. If you can't either look at big titted, chubby twatted cowgirl Pokémon's or stare a mans anus in the eye then the internet is not the place for you.

I don't understand why people take other peoples interpretation and creativity as personal attacks. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. If you don't like it, don't comment. Just delete it and move on with your day.
Tory-Kasper Featured By Owner Feb 25, 2013
I don't understand why people aren't being allowed to have their own opinions on the matter. This is an art site so people aren't going to agree, and everything is interpreted differently. However anyone who doesn't like your pictures immediately has a trolling fanbase on them for simply having an opinion. That really bothers me. I searched through numerous pictures and comments, and most of these people didn't say anything offensive, simply that the pictures made them uncomfortable. Sure there were some people who were rude, but mostly they just said that they didn't like it. Sure they don't have to comment, but it's their right to dislike something, the bullying I'm seeing in return, comments like "You're just a pathetic jackass aren't you?" or "You're retarded." I mean, really? Why respond at all? If people don't respond they move on, have said their piece, and that's that.
Slugbox Featured By Owner Feb 25, 2013
I totally agree on everything you've said. I think that everyone is certainly entitled to any opinion, especially here! And any initial comment which may have less than positive connotations is certainly allowed and is to be totally respected, at least by me personally. Hopefully it's an intelligent comment, at least. Though it doesn't HAVE to be. I generally try to just not say anything myself.

By a similar token, someone can be very rude by being overly protective or overly supportive to someone with a minority opinion. I suppose this is also allowed, but probably not recommended. Ideally we could all let opinions be!

But when a simple difference in opinion on a frivolous topic leads to argument, and it eventually comes to bad words and name calling, I honestly can't come to support either side. Despite whatever truths were spoken initially, by whatever parties, when it turns into a Deviantart flame war I WILL grab a bag of popcorn. That is entertainment being performed and engaged in voluntarily.
Tory-Kasper Featured By Owner Feb 25, 2013
Yes, intelligent comments are by far the best. A reasonable explanation, without being rude that allows others to see your side. I totally agree. I personally just make it a point not to comment on most deviations at all, like them or not. I find the sheer amount of cyber-bullying unsettling, even when the perpetrators believe they are standing up for a just cause. There is always a line.

I also agree, having an overly protective person speaking on the behalf of the minority group in a rude manner just makes it worse. That's as bad as not letting the minority group have an opinion, because it's turning it around on others. This is something I've also noticed in the comments of your drawings. Four or five people fighting, typically ignoring everything the other one said, so that no reason is found. Of course this does not only occur on your pictures, this is a condition of the internet I believe, sadly. I just wish people could let people have their own opinions and be done with it, especially if those opinions are not hurting anyone.

I'm not putting a weight on importance, but arguing over a picture seems very petty. Certainly there are many pieces of artwork I am very protective of and love, whereas there are others I really don't enjoy. However going and turning a picture into an argument just seems very petty and childish. Politics, Global Advocacy, matters where lives are affected everyday by the decisions that are made, I can understand and have in the past participated in arguments (though hopefully I did so in an intelligent manner), but over a picture? Unless it's a picture that was blatantly stolen or infringing all the hate is just depressing.

I wish I could find humor in the arguments. I tip my hat to you being able to do that. The arguments tend to just upset me so I walk away, because like you at a point it becomes impossible to see either side. I'd just like to be as far away from the drama as possible.
